The Strong Model
of Interaction and Intervention
Strong Model Workshops
There are six "Demanding Strength" seminars, or workshops, that are based upon the
Strong Model of Interaction and Intervention. Each covers important components to successfully interacting with teens, and all focus upon the fact that if we learn to interact effectively when there is no crisis, we can more effectively deal with crisis when it occurs. In addition, each workshop draws upon concepts contained in all of the others, thereby enhancing a broader perspective of how to implement Strong Model Strategies.
How to Participate:
You may participate in one or all of the workshops. Currently all of our workshops are being held in Southern California. To enroll you may either call us directly, or you may enroll online through our sister site,
eBookSouth.Com. You may pay by online check, credit card, or PayPal.
Be sure to watch for our couples discount. Attendance in the Demanding Strength seminars costs $349.00 per person. However, if you come as a couple, we provide an enrollment discount of $250.00. Needless to say, for the sake of you and your child we believe that at least two adults should hear and learn Strong Model concepts.

The Following are Our Demanding Strength Seminars:
Troubled Teens: Don't Conquer Them, Save Them
Crisis Intervention and Non-Crisis Interaction
Intervening at Home: Make the Powerful Strong
Is Your Child a Problem? Beware the Knee Jerk
Consequences and Rewards: Illusions for Idiots
Leading: Gaining Respect by Demanding Strength
Each seminar weaves multiple philosophies of change into the framework of the Strong Model of Interaction and Intervention, and displays how mere shifts in how we interact may decrease the frequency of our need to intervene.
Additional Benefits:
In addition to providing exceptional interaction and intervention skills, the workshop facilitator provides information and insight regarding local resources to help your family and teens. This information is critical, and is often overlooked when parents are so set upon finding solutions for their child's misbehavior that they make mistakes in judgement. Resources such as outpatient treatment, local support groups, therapeutic professionals, and educational consultants, are bypassed for the quick fix of an internet search. This is often the first, and most critical mistake made by parents in need of help.
The facilitator helps parents to identify when and if their child actually needs treatment, and helps parents understand the various forms of intervention.
Who Makes This Possible?
A small number of
treatment programs have joined with Michael Behning and his company, Strategic Insight Management, to help parents find solutions closer to home. Why? Even if your child ends up in a treatment program, he/she will still need to return home. Lasting solutions must be exercised in the child's home and social environment. If possible, these solutions can begin to form before treatment, and may actually preclude the need for placement in a treatment program. But if treatment is necessary, the once-troubled teen must eventually return home, where success cannot be forced upon him/her, but must come from within, with the support and expectations of family, friends, and professionals. The treatment programs that make this training possible recognize that they are often distant from your home, and that you and your society are needed to help ensure the long-term success of your child.
What's Right For You?
You need to make that decision. Prematurely contacting aggressive placement professionals may result in you compromising the interests of your troubled teen for the interests of an unseen placement agenda. If problems with your teen are critical, you should educate yourself quickly and effectively regarding the treatment care industry, then should make educated decisions. Don't act on impulse or emotion. Consider all options. Determine how your skills for coping and interacting can be improved. And even if you end up placing in a treatment program, go into the process knowing not only what will take place, but what your rights are, and what your expectations should be.
There isn't a cookie-cutter answer for anyone. Attend our inexpensive workshops ($349 per person per workshop - $250 discount for couples), and you become the expert on your child's recovery, employing the resources around you to make that recovery as successful as possible.
